Nick is the President of the firm and the chair of Nelson Kinder's construction practice group. With more than twenty-seven years experience, Nick's practice is devoted primarily to representing architects, engineers, and contractors before arbitration panels, and in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Nick plays an instrumental role in our firm's efforts to effectively use technology in the litigation of complex cases.

Nick is an active member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, and serves on the Division 1 Steering Committee.

Nick is also a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Construction Arbitrators.

Representative cases include:

Counsel for contractor in dispute arising from the construction of a LNG terminal in United Kingdom (Arbitration - London);

Successfully brought multimillion dollar claim on behalf of contractor against OEM regarding defects in design of combustion turbines (Federal Court - Illinois);

Obtained recovery for EPC contractor in litigation arising from defects in design of HRSG (Federal Court - Iowa);

Lead counsel for EPC contractor in case relating to design and construction of geothermal power plants (Arbitration - San Diego, CA);

Brought claims on behalf of engineering firm to recover cost overruns it incurred in design of biotech facility (Arbitration - Boston);

Lead counsel in claim against OEM regarding defective design of specialized turbine (State Court - California)

Defense of claims against company arising from design and construction of transmission systems (Arbitration - North Carolina)

Successfully brought claim on behalf of EPC contractor against OEM alleging defective design and installation of specialized power plant equipment (Federal Court - California);

and, representation of contractor in dispute arising from claims relating to multimillion dollar renovation of school facilities (State Court - New Hampshire).
