Rich joined the firm in 2008. Prior to moving to private practice, Rich served as law clerk to the Honorable Justice Andre Gelinas of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. While clerking, he worked on a wide range of appeals, including cases in the areas of civil rights, consumer protection, sales, business, malpractice, criminal procedure, and family law.

Rich currently concentrates his practice in the firm's Employment, Construction, and Professional Liability Practice Groups. There, his knowledge of diverse aspects of the law, developed while serving as an appellate law clerk, makes him a valued contributor in defending against the varied issues arising in employment discrimination, construction cases, and malpractice claims brought against the firm's clients in different legal contexts. Rich's employment work encompasses defending against a wide range of claims against employers, including age, race, gender, and sexual orientation discrimination as well as wrongful termination suits. Rich's construction work includes significant efforts on behalf of a large client in an international dispute involving tens of millions of dollars. Rich works at both the trial and appellate levels, including successfully arguing before the New Hampshire Supreme Court on a professional liability matter. Rich also works in defending clients against allegations of patent infringment brought by "patent trolls".

Rich's graduation from Indiana University School of Law with high honors earned him election into the Order of the Coif. During law school, Rich served as a Managing Editor of the Indiana Law Journal, where he led a team of associates in editing and improving scholarly articles for publication. He also competed as a member of Indiana University's National Moot Court team, strengthening an early interest in litigation. While in law school, Rich also volunteered for the local Pro Bono Project, a public service organization that aids indigent clients in legal matters and in securing legal representation. Rich found the experience taught him valuable lessons about communicating with and serving clients in difficult circumstances. He also held internships with the Monroe County Public Defender, and the United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Hampshire, absorbing issues concerning trial practice.
